The ‘first’ Realty Corner opened its door for business in 1953 in Springfield, NJ. The office was located on the corner of Morris Avenue and Crescent Street. Anne Sylvester, broker/owner, decided to have an all-female real estate office, as she believed a wife picks out a home and wives preferred to work with a female agent. By 1960, Realty Corner was one of the most successful agencies in Union County with over 20 sales agents and 3 support staff. Over the next 30 years Anne Sylvester grew to be a legend in her part of New Jersey. Her daughter, Sheri, was only 8 years old when she first stepped into Realty Corner. Sheri became a sales agent at Realty Corner in NJ in 1969. In 1979 Sheri earned, both, the GRI (Graduate of the Real Estate Institute) and the honored CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) designations. After her mother’s death in 1986, Sheri managed the company. Sheri was listed in “Who’s Who in NJ Residential Real Estate 1990-1991”. The company had prospered for 42 years, but Sheri wanted to move to sunny Florida and be nearer her grandchildren. Anne Sylvester’s Realty Corner closed its doors in 1995.

After marrying Warren Barry, CCIM (commercial realtor) in 2001, Sheri moved to Ft. Myers. Sheri Barry became the top Buyer’s Agent on the top team in Lee County in 2002; Sheri began her own team in August, 2003, which has been extraordinarily successful. In December 2004, she followed in her mother’s footsteps by founding REALTY CORNER USA based on the “Values” instilled in her by her mother (See the Realty Corner USA Mission Statement below). The office is located in The Banyan Building on the corner of College Pkwy and Parkway Lane in Fort Myers, just across from The Canterbury School. The company has started the year with 7 agents and 2 support staff. Unlike her mother, Sheri believes male agents can be successful, too. More than half of REALTY CORNER USA agents are men.
